Re: Amazon-Free: A Two Year Anniversary

I don’t order very much through Amazon. Usually my last choice. If you order something the pace of spam from them increases. I’m always amazed that Home Depot can be so big and have so little I want. I’m happy ordering most things from McMaster. The prices are fair, the quality always good. I’ve had...

Re: Entropy

I was at my oldest friends house for Christmas. We were in a band together when we were 12 years old. We both ended up in New York. They have a vacation house just over the New Jersey border in Pennsylvania. It's in a gated community with a couple of man made ponds. It's not fancy. Every time we vis...

Re: entropy continued?

Those look nice Brian. I’ve never used that type of cable clamp. Do you need a special tool to instal those?

Re: entropy continued?

I got the project box and Condor 28VDC power supplies to make the external Sontec power supply. The client wants to use XLR-7 as the connectors as that’s what the GML PSU uses. The GML puts out +/-28VDC and +/-18VDC. The Sontec just takes 28VDC and regulates down to +/-17VDC on the board. The select...

Re: Audio Tools on iOS

Thanks Wayne. The machine keeps shutting down after a while. I have a feeling it’s the battery. If a replacement is more than $75 or so I may just bite the bullet and get a new laptop with an 11.6” screen. The Thinkpad I have big and heavy. The small laptops are under $250.

Digilent Analog Discovery 2

https://store.digilentinc.com/analog-discovery-2-100msps-usb-oscilloscope-logic-analyzer-and-variable-power-supply/ This looks pretty cool. You get a lot for your money compared to a stand alone digital scope. It has 2 differential inputs so great for audio. 14 bit resolution which is amazing for th...

Re: Audio Tools on iOS

I have officially given up on getting the iPad going for this. Too bad. I broke out the Windows 7 laptop and downloaded REW. The $99 Presonus USB interface was recognized after downloading the drivers. I haven't gotten further than that yet. I decided it made the most sense to do it on a Windows lap...

Re: Smashed Plastic Vinyl Pressing Plant Opens in Chicago

There are four to six companies making presses now. It depends how you count. Having a press be steamless makes setup easier. You don’t need a high pressure boiler and a certified engineer to maintain it. I doubt electrical hearing and cooling is actually better though. From what I’ve picked up It’s...

Re: Affordable umblicals.

Allied has the best prices I’ve found for the Electroswitch C4 rotarty switches I use. $16.08 for a 1 pol 12 pos switch in singles. They are indestructible but large and high torque. The 2 pol 12 pos switches I’m using for gain in the T Filter EQ were about $22.00 when I bought them. I’d like a 24 p...

Re: Red Pitaya

I think the Rigol scopes are 8 bit yet vary in the available DR as defined by the minimum vertical scale. The lower end scopes are 2mV per division while the high end ones are 1uV per division. Both 8 bit. I have the PEAK LCR meter. This has a few more features like selectable frequencies for measur...
