Re: How Closely Do The Values Of Electrolytic Caps From The Same Lot Match?

This is a known issue to IC designers as they struggle to manage heat flows inside and away from IC substrates. Not only distortion but expected device junction voltage changes with temperature shifting operating points. I used lots of cheap transistor arrays and they have their share of quirks, I n...

Re: How Closely Do The Values Of Electrolytic Caps From The Same Lot Match?

The THD% in resistors that are shown in the table maybe misleading. What frequency & power levels did he use in testing the THD? During the development of the ATS2 (the first all SMD AP) I had 0.0006 THD% until the 10Hz test when it went sky high. At first I thought it was oscillating. Probing arou...

Re: "Composite Op Amp For High Performance," Siliconix AN81-3, July 1983

Ironic perhaps that the front end should be a Nat Semi LM394... Who would write that ap note? JR [update] LM 394 datasheet shows several applications with supermatched pair as front end... oddly (or not) they all used Nat semit op amps for back ends. https://www.digchip.com/datasheets/pa...

Re: That1580 mini mixer

c12,14.16 gone. Metering will be done post unbalancing right before the 5k mixing resistors. Going with attiny84 somethings on each channel card, 10 leds, will try to emulate an lm3916 with the mcu. low current leds and peak metering should not be too much of a current draw. (led color render is me...

Re: crystal ball

this seems almost too obvious but #18 I predict the ugliest election in my lifetime... with an option of violence. (I hope I'm wrong about the violence). I don't think you're going to be wrong about their childish tantrums. They've promised us they will. We're already in a "warm" soon-to-be hot civ...

Re: Gentle persuasion over time

My Dad left me a metal wedge on the property. I've never had to use it but a stuck bar predicament looks like an ideal use for it. Yes a wedge and sledge manner might work... I took a few whacks at it with my axe, but it is too far up in the air to get a good swing at it. === Plan c "maybe" was to ...

A crowbar should come handy to free the chainsaw blade.
Tried it... that too failed

Re: Gentle persuasion over time

Some days you execute your plan, some days it fights back... My first cut yesterday afternoon was supposed to be easy... A long unsupported smaller trunk of the tree, cut from above should have cleanly dropped away. Inexplicably the smaller trunk split and locked the chainsaw bar in place... After a...

Re: Gentle persuasion over time

maple I suspect... I still have the main trunk leaning up against tree #2 that looks like it has a bad lean in the wrong direction. Tree #3 scheduled for removal doesn't have any branches below 60 or 70 feet making me think my problem is other trees adjacent to my property (I can't cut). I am review...

Re: That1580 mini mixer

I did a lot of work with mcu based metering with one 4 channel meter still in use (I think?) in a professional product (APB 4 bus console). I just checked their website and it looks like they stopped making the big consoles but found this picture. https://apb-dynasonics.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/1...
