Re: Arduino LED "Roto" Clock and other Arduino Projects

my fancy outdoor thermometer (weather forecaster) has a radio updated time standard. Not that web connected computers are not accurate. My fancy weather forecaster that always says it is going to rain, this week said it was going to snow.... still wrong about the weather but at least the therm...

Re: home improvement turns into science fair projects?

The 2000mAh nimh batteries in my driveway lamps are not living up to my expectations. Reportedly my freezing weather should not bother them, but the results show worse performance than previous nicads with <1/3 rated capacity. JR [update- I just charged up my old 600mAh nicads and swapped out the un...

Re: The Great Replacement

Figures published few days ago by the government seemingly happy to claim to do better than before. ROFL. In France over 2919. 31200 illegals regularized. 18900 illegals expelled. Who knows how many more are who knows where. Merkel invited in something like 1M migrants to keep her factories filled ...

Re: home improvement turns into science fair projects?

Are there lots of late-night parties in Hickory? The last time there was, they were at my house so I didn't need to worry about the drive home. If you were still up doing that I might suggest sequenced approach lights. it is under control. 8-) JR PS: Back in the day I would have to drive 20+ miles ...

Re: home improvement turns into science fair projects?

Latest driveway franken-lamp experiment variant. I upgraded the batteries to 2,000 mAh Nimh batteries. These lamps come stock with something like 300 mAh nicad, I was running 600mAh before, but the typical nicads get tired after a year or so. So far despite some overcast and rainy days the franken l...

Re: Entropy

New drier arrived today and they took the old one away to recycle. The new one I am willing to be has all the same parts in as the old but is quieter and gets hotter quicker. Wife is happy. This gains me more lab time over the weekend so money well spend :) I hear that a happy wife is a good thing....

Re: Entropy

for my next bonafide entropy episode, the rain overflowing my gutters caused me to fire up my sump pump for the first time since I put up the gutters. I was hearing gurgling water sounds coming from the crawl space (no bueno) so today I dragged out the sump pump. The discharge hose, came up separate...

Re: Engineering malpractice

Yesterday after reducing the spray of water leaking from the bottom joint to a mere dribble, then the spray nozzle adjustment unscrewed completely off never to be found again... The bare nozzle sprays water out at 90' angles so pretty useless without the missing piece... today I hacksawed off the en...
