Re: The Corona Virus Hoax of 2020

Most of these pukes are just ignorant and influenced by the modern media partisan echo chamber. The only reason I engage at all is for the silent majority afraid to speak truth to these losers and put a cancel target on their own back... Their "facts" may also come from Google's biased, and often f...

Re: The Corona Virus Hoax of 2020

I spend too much time wrestling with pukes on the internet Where? GroupDIY? GearSlutz? GroupDIY and some on facebook Of course I have the option to not engage... In fact I'm mod at GroupDIY so I could literally disappear the pukes, but I respect the 1st amendment. I did disappear one guy a few year...

Re: The Corona Virus Hoax of 2020

I spend too much time wrestling with pukes on the internet but just this week had an odd one. wsj1.jpg This graphic was from the front page of thursday's WSJ and it does not look scary at all with the deaths shown in context with perspective. Later when I tried to find that plot on the WWW to share ...

Re: I love modern technology

I'll try heating. There is very little accessible to touch with the iron tip and no way to heat both side simultaneously. you don't have to heat both sides at the same time... you can unsolder one side and tilt the cap up, the unsolder the other side. I think of destroying the case to have access f...

Re: I love modern technology

If you can reach the solder pad at all with an iron tip you should be able to melt it, maybe put some fresh solder on the tip.

I reworked SMT with an old school iron for years before upgrading to hot air... hot air is better/easier.

Re: I love modern technology

The rapid decline in prices has encouraged me to replace TVs before they fail... then I hand them down to serve as computer monitors... 55" is going to be silly large but I'm old and it will be easier to read. That will bump the still working 44" to squirrel cams... The 44" has one bad pixel but onl...

Re: I love modern technology

I rarely get surprised by a new product that exceeds my expectations, especially when I buy stuff because its cheap. I recently upgraded to a 65" TV for my living room, but admittedly it was an impulse buy for only $398.... I didn't even know it was ROKU, until after it arrived, but apparently it is...

Re: Mask-Wearing: This Is Our Life Now (Or is It?)

I can confirm that it is harder to breath wearing a n95 mask. but I only use mine for about 20 minutes a week. Covid aerosols range from 60-140nm and particulate masks only filter out 200-300nm particles. I remain optimistic about commercialization of far UVc (human safe UV light) that kills ...

Re: Gentle persuasion over time

Is 2PM too early to start drinking? (rhetorical of course not). what_tree.jpg Tree down, cut, and on the burn pile..... This thread is about finished. JR to update the status of the old stump, I have been dosing with beer trub for several months now. stump1.png The tree started out with ants in it,...

Re: Mask-Wearing: This Is Our Life Now (Or is It?)

I have no problems with frequent hand washing. Enjoy your life in the masked cult JR. Consider that maybe the "ritual" screed is a mind f__k to get you infected or maybe worse... Some kids do not appreciate their elders because they hold strong opinions and are not easily swayed, a few less ...
