Finally Built My Stereo Pico Compressor SE
In 2006 Roger designed the Pico Compressor. As he developed it I suggested that he try True Power Summing to stereo-couple the units. We agreed that I would sell Pico boards and I received some of the early mono prototypes. I immediately tried True Power Summing. It worked very well. This was the f...

Re: bike boy stuff....
My local bike shop used to get Wal*Mart-assembled bikes in for repair where the handle bars were installed with the front forks raking backwards.

Re: Entropy
Does Mcmaster Carr carry the odd hardware you were looking for..? not cheap but they carry a decent selection. Wow they have a nice selection like Grainger but at about 1/2 the price. I didn't go looking for the bolt but I did check their supply of AC run caps and the pricing was lots better than G...

Re: vinyl redux
Business interest in vinyl is returning because you can make a profit selling tangible physical "stuff' and not so much selling ethereal digital data files. Thats' exactly right. And as a consumer I can hold it in my hand. I can frame the album cover without having to go to Kinkos and print it...

Re: Entropy
he made it a lot harder than it needed to be... it was probably only one broken wire that I could have found and fixed in minutes, not days... thanks to his butchered repair attempt. Reminds me of my bench repair days when I had to undo other people's previous repair attempts to get to the bottom o...

Since you've been writing about the slow cooker I've been inspired to use mine. I've cooked two batches of Saint Louis style barbecue ribs. For the Fourth of July a barbecue brisket. Starting the slow cooker at 10 AM and walking away from it allows me to deal with entropy in the form of lawns that n...

Re: That1580/1510 mini mixer
Do you suppose that the RF activity is being heard due to rectification of the RF envelope? That's common with wired USB and GSM phones. You might need some internal screening. On the subject of Linux I tried Ubuntu a long time ago on older hardware and it was bloated. At the time I settled on Xandr...

Re: vinyl redux
Earlier this year I went to Barnes and Noble to buy vinyl.
Going through the bins reminded me of an earlier time 40 years ago at the mall doing exactly the same thing.
I'm glad to see Sony getting back into this.
