Re: Panasonic Discrete Transistors, JFETs and MOSFETs
I've use a pair of BS170s N-ch MOSFETS back-to-back as an audio switch and they work very well. Above about +15 dBu they need a little bootstrapping. Having two of them in a package is really cool. Was it ROhm that coined the term "digital transistor" for those having internal resistors? I...

Re: CE certification
It's been awhile since I reasearched it but there are a number of compliance labs here in Texas for EMC. I'm sure they're just about everywhere.
Seems like a good lab could help you with obtaining the standards and meeting them.

Panasonic Discrete Transistors, JFETs and MOSFETs
I just received a flyer from Panasonic Electronic Components who has introduced a number of discrete bipolar transistors, JFETS and MOSFETS. A number of the BJTs and MOSFETS are duals, the BJTs being either fully-independent or with common terminals. Some of the MOSFETS are configured in a relay co...

A new audio amplifier topology with push-pull transimpedance
Congratulations to Sam Groner! From his Linear Audio series: "A new audio amplifier topology with push-pull transimpedance stage," EE Times, Audio Design Line, posted 8/29/12. http://www.eetimes.com/design/audio-design/4394979/A-new-audio-amplifier-topology-with-push-pull-transimpedance-s...

Re: JFET Follower Amplifier Cancels Distortion
Thanks ricardo and JR. ricardo - Have you ever viewed the Schoeps circuit as a "current loop" interface? I say this because like a conventional industrial current loop, the load - in this case the emitter load - is distant from the microphone and resides in the preamp at the far end of the...

Re: JFET Follower Amplifier Cancels Distortion
The 'half' Vds fed to gate trick was used a lot by Ray Dolby to linearise FET voltage controlled 'resistors' I looked and that's what Cordell did in the THD analyser. IIRC I've seen the half Vds in the 1176 FET shunt attenuator. The THD reduction "notches" are quite narrow in Dimitri's de...

Re: JFET Follower Amplifier Cancels Distortion
John - It didn't look like anything I'd seen before either.
I'm wondering that by rearranging some of the ports it could be made to linearize a JFET voltage controlled resistor.

Or just buy a 60" monitor and run Winamp.
Looked like his kit required a lot of 0603 soldering.
