A Universal Sallen-Key Filter Board
I'm always needing simple filters for doing audio experiments particularly for the MS Matrix and Width Controller. Usually, if I need something, other people do too. Elliptic Equalization for vinyl cutting, low and high pass filters for width management or transfer, dynamics side chains, test and m...

Re: Entropy
Well here we are again replacing motor run capacitors in the air conditioner. Woke up at 6 AM with no AC running. Last time was two years ago: http://www.proaudiodesignforum.com/forum/php/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=406&start=81 Same deal: Condenser fan run capacitor (5 uF) open. Compressor thermal...

Re: Neutrik NC10FD-LX-B 10 pin XLR
I just looked and the power contacts are rated 16A up to 50V.
Cat-5 plus 768W of DC power at 48V.
Dante interface gear that doesn't have to be locally-powered. Very cool.

Re: Residential Lighting with LEDs: Retrofitting the Pink Ra
I usually try to buy 3000K. Some of the decorative ones are 2700K. Years ago I bought a 5000K "sunlight" CFL and it was so blue. The first Sylvania 60W LED I tried were sickly pink. Those were long-ago discontinued and I returned mine. I couldn't imagine living with them. I couldn't find t...

Re: An Improved Dual Class-A Output: The "DCAO2"
I've revisited this project and have rebuilt the protoboard.
Right now I'm doing listening tests and hope to post a schematic in a few days.

Re: Residential Lighting with LEDs: Retrofitting the Pink Ra
I recently hung a five-tier chandelier that we had in storage. The 8X 60W candelabra-based incandescent lamps pulled 480W at full-up and were blinding. Dimmed they were orange and had carbon deposits inside the glass. Some were the original Sears lamps. In the summer this thing is the space heater ...

Re: Phono Transfer System
Got it. Thanks. Two separate single conductor shielded cables. The shield of cable in series with R6 connects to pin 1, the shield of cable in series with R7 connects to pin 7. That way the shield capacitance looks like a small cap across the feedback resistors.

Re: Phono Transfer System
Adam has had the preamp for a little while now and it's been working great so far. He has it mounted in a rack very close to the lathe so I believe the cable run is only about 4-5 ft. He says it's dead quiet even with everything cranked. Cool! The full instrumentation amp wasn't really necessary in...
