Entropy

Relax in southern comfort on the east bank of the Mississippi. You're just around the corner from Beale Street and Sun Records. Watch the ducks, throw back a few and tell us what's on your mind.

We decided to "manage" the squirrels with sunflower seed to keep them distracted.

I'll look into that, sounds easier that shooting them....

[edit- a quick google search revealed that feeding squirrels sunflower seeds "attracts more squirrels". For now I think I'll stick with my current plan. [/edit]

Maybe the Post Office should start feeding the squirrels.

He’s been a pleasure so far. Kitty Wells has been very gentle and acting like a babysitter. He went on the wee wee pad this morning! He has been very well behaved and seems very smart.

She is the nicest easiest going dog I've had. As an example she'll be sleeping and Hank will start pulling her hair and bothering her. She doesn't get cranky, she just wakes up and plays with him until he tires out.

not to get back on entropy, here is my latest pecan stump update. It doesn't look very different from last time but I have chopped and dug up a few hundred pounds of very wet roots.

If you look closely you can see where I have part of the stump separated from the rest, but still stuck in place. I am thinking of using the winch/come-along a bought to pull my lawnmower out of the rain ditches, to winch out the stump using the nearby power pole as an anchor.

I am optimistic this will work, and see the light at the end of the tunnel (coming straight at me).

In hindsight I could have left a lot of the root wood in the ground, but the ground is built up there, so I want to make sure I have no wood sticking up when I finally level it.

If I get the fire hot enough I can burn the roots, but I need to boil the water out of them before they catch and burn on their own.
