Ready for Digital Audio? A History in Print

Post by mediatechnology »

I found this 1982 EDN article written by Andy Rappaport.
Ready for Digital Audio? It might arrive sooner than you think.

By the end of this year, you might be buying hour-long stereo records that fit in your pocket.

In addition to the CD, the article discusses the CBS CX and dbx disc systems. This article took me into the wayback machine.

Some Internet Startup Named Audionet... (1998)

Post by mediatechnology »

Just found and re-read this 1998 Wall Street Journal article about some guy by the name of Mark Cuban who was distributing audio over the internet.

Wonder what happened to Mark?

I think I saw Mark speak at a conference in 2003, and if it was him, his method made sense. Seemed like the powers that be would be against it.
