Thank you Jakob!
Good to see you here in our sleepy little village.
I've been busy working on the new store the last few days.

My application for the Ambler-style Tilt was to use in M/S Side: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=934#p11050

I was looking for a knob that worked mostly in the midrange and would make a delicate mix fall apart quickly.
Plus I liked the simplicity of it.
When I listened to what it did to midrange Width I liked it a lot and decided to quit while I was ahead.

I wanted to bring some low-order EQ onto the board to discourage the use of high-order EQ in the insert.
The goal was to avoid peaking in the crosstalk or L/R response curves when high order filters are used.

I discovered peaking trying to do a high-order EEQ and used an Allpass to fix it: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=828&start=46

Jakob E.
Wayne's work on DC coupling a mic preamp that floated the rails up to 48V was what originally attracted me to GroupDIY. I have scribbled circuit concepts for a similar approach for years (decades), but never reduced one to practice.

I followed Wayne over here when he left groupdiy.

We have had many stimulating conversations about esoteric design concepts here.

This place is Wayne's baby so any credit for it is all his.

Thanks John.

I give credit to the people who come here to contribute, read content and support the place by buying the stuff I geek out on.

I recently found that December 2006 email when you joined Prodigy-Pro and emailed me.
Glad we got you activated!

I got a similar email from Joe Neil about he same time.

It's idea is to use a cascade of shelves to realize a linear 1/8 order or 1db/oct function (kinda like when you do pink out of white noise @3dB/oct), and then use this function block wrapped around a tilt function.
I was reminded of Linkwitz:

FWFW Siegfried has announced his retirement. It might be a good idea to download content from his site.
