IBM and Record Labels to Deliver 'Net Music (1999)

Relax in southern comfort on the east bank of the Mississippi. You're just around the corner from Beale Street and Sun Records. Watch the ducks, throw back a few and tell us what's on your mind.

Good thing Steve Jobs didn't cancel the iTunes project. I mean, who would want to carry around a match-book sized iPod Shuffle when you could burn a CD? ;)

Apple had a long running conflict with the Beatle's record label (Apple records) over the name usage, and IIRC Apple always swore that they had no interest in the music business...

Apple eventually made peace with the record label from their later, significantly stronger, relative position, and obvious interest in the music business
