Re: MEP-250 Bridged-T equalizer

The ones I built aren't an exact clone of a 250 or 430. The tuning capacitors aren't the values listed in the 250 schematic. It's kind of a mashup of the 250 and the GML 8200. The 430 uses three op amps in the summing section. One for Input, one for Output and one for summing.

Re: Gentle persuasion over time

Thanks Wayne. I like making stuff:) It’s in the Adirondack furniture tradition. The nicest stuff is made by www.dartbrookrustic.com A lot of other stuff is cheesy. Next up is a door cover like the vinyl strip thing on a cold meat storage room. I’m making it out of a Y branch and felt strips. I’m sta...

A person I know who is an arborist recently had an accident that may permanently put him in a wheelchair. It's a family business and he's been doing it his whole life. Be careful.

Re: Gentle persuasion over time

I harvested a bunch of paper birch from a downed tree on the hill across the street. Paper birch grows with a straight trunk with no branches until the top of the tree. The only way to get smaller branches is to cut one down or find a downed tree. I made these wall sconces for the propane lanterns w...

Re: Cyril Bateman Capacitor Sound Archive

I plan on trying C0G ceramics in the Barry Porter Net EQ I’m starting in on. I haven’t heard of anyone using them in an EQ circuit. I hope they sound as clean as they look on paper.

Re: Flat Balanced Input Moving Coil Phono Preamp Construction Information

That makes sense Wayne. I still don't have an FFT setup so I wouldn't have seen that. I find RF/EMI much more objectionable than hum. Hum at least is a constant level and frequency while RF/EMI changes over time. I can detect RF/EMI at very low levels under music as harshness. Kind of like truncatin...
