Re: OTB Mixer Using Current Summation

Solo could be executed destructively without adding any circuitry, just by muting all other inputs. As John and I have pointed out elsewhere a non-destructive in-place solo isn't really possible in this architecture using VCAs. Our choices seem to be either PFL or destructive solo. My vote, for KIS...

Re: OTB Mixer Using Current Summation

KIA also gets my vote for the signal path.

For the DC CV circuitry you can't beat the MC33079/MC33179. The '179 only pulls ~750 uA/OA and they're cheap, low noise and have good drive.

Re: MicMix MasterRoom Spring Reverb Project

Accutronics supplied the whole sled for this project. They can be bolted together and suspended by springs or O rings. They sell them online - the last time I checked they had an eBay storefront. For twelve lines (springs) there would be four sleds since they have a three line unit. I was thinking t...

Re: OTB Mixer Using Current Summation

If I hook up a PIC to VCA look out compressors.
I think that's the new shiny hammer thread.

OK, we can just take the 5 op amp stage pan bender and mux that 8 times.

Re: OTB Mixer Using Current Summation

I'm supposed to be the guy who says " I can do that with a PIC"!
Yeah, that's right. You're that guy.

Re: OTB Mixer Using Current Summation

Wow John thanks for the work on this. With an audio path as short as this one would be there sure is a lot of "stuff" to condition the CV for the VCA. This almost cries out for a look-up table-based mux/de-mux approach using a single PIC. With that approach - which I think you mentioned ea...

MicMix MasterRoom XL-305 Spring Reverb Clone

Update August 2021 Shortly after I revived this project back in 2018 I was contacted by Chris Yetter of AudioScape. Chris was interested in a reverb product and had heard great things about the MicMix MasterRoom XL-305. I agreed to help Chris with the re-issue doing both the circuit design and teac...

Re: OTB Mixer Using Current Summation

Funny bit is almost zippo opamps in audio path... one in sum amp, + dedicated input and output balancing circuitry (THAT?). Yeah. Sounds good. 1246/1206 on the input, VCAs, an OA for final I-V and another 1646 for balanced out. The signal path is pretty short. Yes the CV is the part-intensive porti...

Re: OTB Mixer Using Current Summation

As many of you can tell I renamed this thread before Google starts to take the original title too seriously. :ugeek: If you have a better title idea speak now before this one gets trapped in the wayback machine. I think this is only the third or fourth time I've had to "mod" anything here ...

Re: Pease - What's All This Adjustable Slew Rate Stuff Anyhow?

I haven't visited this thread in awhile: emrr wrote: That means pan and faders I can grab and drive for max ergonomics and efficiency.
