Re: VCA bus mixer using all THAT all the time

JR, this sounds very interesting. Judging by the sound of the Pico, it would seem that the VCA's day has arrived, and I don't doubt it could sound very good. Keep it up.

Re: Hurricane Gustav

No problems in the Carolina's; Louisiana is a 12-14 hour drive from here. We got 6-12" of rain last week as Fay blew back through. Looks like the 'H' storm could come in here next week though.

Good stuff! I have spent far too much time collecting original amps, documentation, and period trade literature. Seems to be the only way to put the pieces together. At some point I started tracking various manufacturers preamp products, and continue to narrow in on exact production dates and major ...

Re: Graeme Cohen - Microphone Amplifer History and Design

Nice compilation. Here are some corrections: The WE 8-C is a 1920's amplifier. 'Early RCA 1940's is somewhat incorrect; that's the BA-1A from 1945. There are 4 previous generations of AC powered RCA, and at least 2 DC powered before that so I'd call it mid-period RCA. 'Langevin 1949' should be 1947....
