Stories You Couldn't Post In The Brewery

Relax in southern comfort on the east bank of the Mississippi. You're just around the corner from Beale Street and Sun Records. Watch the ducks, throw back a few and tell us what's on your mind.

6 Days After Celebrating '100% Renewable Power' Is In A Blackout

6 Days After Celebrating '100% Renewable Power', Spain Blames "Rare Atmospheric Phenomenon" For Nation's Largest Blackout In History

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/ ... r-blackout
Six days ago, the media celebrated a significant milestone: Spain’s national grid operated entirely on renewable energy for the first time during a weekday. At 12:35 pm today local time, the lights went out across Spain and Portugal, and parts of France.

...none of this should have been a surprise. The underlying physics had been understood for years, and the specific vulnerabilities had been spelled out repeatedly in technical warnings that policymakers ignored.

As countries replaced heavy, spinning plants with lightweight, inverter-based generation, the grid became faster, lighter, and far more sensitive to disruptions. That basic physical reality was spelled out in public warnings as far back as 2017.

Although political leaders promised that renewable energy would provide stable, affordable power, in practice, Spain grew more reliant on the remaining nuclear and natural gas plants to sustain inertia — even as the government pushes them to close.
Low inertia results in frequency instability...

Challenging the green narrative will get you censored elsewhere.

Here in Ireland the household customer is set to absorb the cost of greening the power network ,
Data centers are making deals on renewable power years into the future ,with always on contracts at a fixed low price ,
meanwhile the domestic customers will be subject to market forces and supply interuptions .

The other green joke is in recent storms a vast swathe of homes on the west coast of Ireland were without power for upto a month ,
people with brand new state of the art energy effecient homes with air to water heat exchange systems and underfloor heating had to pack up and leave because they had no alternative means to heat , it proved beyond a doubt the system isnt fit for purpose , people in older properties with fire places or solid fuel stoves could at least shelter in place and tough it out .

Just goes to show , some dont even bother reading the original post properly ,
the OP clearly indicated the situation with his hands ,

The skirted and winged Marconi style would be possible option for those with an aversion to chicken heads but dont want to knacker their joints any more for the sake of period correctness .

EMI/Chandler and the Pultec EQ use chicken heads ,
Maybe its a bit like the Danish foreign ministers banana phobia :D

I loaded up Sadie 6.1.18 ,
It found and selected my usb soundcard asio driver automatically without any problems ,
It states your getting a 30 day trial licence ,so I dont know what limitations that imposes , or how to unlock it .

Looks like a useful editing program ,but there is a learning curve , it seems fast and responsive , just like what youd want in a broadcast situation .
The graphics are a little dated looking but none the less provide all the functionlity needed without unessesary window dressing .

It also comes with its own standalone multitrack recorder ,
this might be of interest to people wanting to transfer analog tapes to digital with a simple ,free program , that works without limitation on any PC and audio hardware you have .

The whole thing is just under a 100mb download , with no updates to worry about ,
I tried running the installer on WIN10 PE but it crashes out at the end and uninstalls itself .
I might have better luck with an older version .

So perhaps a little sad to see the end of an era for Prism Sound but its a nice gesture to make it free for public usage ,
when you contrast it to other companies in audio hardware game who preprogrammed in obsolesence and pulled the plug on service and support after only a few years , its a night and day difference .

Geoengineers Want Boeing 777s To Dump Sulfur Into The Sky, Risking Acid Rain Catastrophe: Study

These programs have been operational for decades but are just now being admitted to in an attempt to normalize it.

More geoengineering that some in the Brewery (JR, crazydoc, Living Sounds et al) claim doesn't exist...
